Editorial Policy

This policy governs every review, comparison, ranking and guide we publish. It is written to be checkable: if we break it, you should be able to point at the page and say so.

Our sources

Research is drawn from vendor product documentation, product demonstrations where a vendor has provided one, publicly available pricing pages, published release notes, regulatory and compliance documentation, and user reviews on public platforms.

  • Vendor documentation and help centres
  • Product demonstrations where applicable
  • Publicly available pricing pages and published plan terms
  • Aggregated public user reviews, read for patterns rather than quoted as fact
  • Other credible industry and regulatory sources

What we will not claim

We do not claim to have personally tested a platform unless our records show that testing took place, and in that case the page says what was tested and when. We do not publish invented pricing, ratings, customer counts, processing fees, trial lengths, integration lists, compliance status or awards.

Where a vendor does not publish a detail, the page shows 'Contact vendor' or 'Not listed' rather than a plausible-looking number. An empty field is more useful to a buyer than a wrong one.

Compliance claims

Statements about HIPAA, business associate agreements or data handling are only published when they can be confirmed in writing by the vendor. Compliance depends on how a practice configures and uses a product, so we describe available capabilities rather than certifying any platform as compliant.

Keeping pages current

Software changes quickly, so treat any page here as a starting point for your own diligence rather than as current fact, and confirm decision-critical details with the vendor.

Independence

Vendors cannot buy a rating, a placement in a ranking, or the removal of criticism. Commercial relationships, where they exist, are disclosed on the page they affect and are described in our advertising disclosure.
