If your practice keeps a parallel spreadsheet for injectable stock, the software is not doing the job. The usual cause is that product use is recorded in the chart but never deducted from inventory, so the two diverge within weeks.

Injectables are consumed in units, not boxes. The system needs to deduct units at the point of charting, capture the lot number and expiry, and record waste as a distinct category rather than as a stock adjustment.

Retail skincare needs barcodes, supplier records and margin reporting. Platforms strong at clinical inventory are sometimes weak here, which matters if retail is a meaningful share of revenue.
