Separate shipping features from announcements

Every platform in this category now markets automation. The useful distinction is between a feature available on your plan today and one described in a roadmap session. Ask which release a feature shipped in, and ask to see it operating on a live account.

Where automation is currently useful

The clearest value today is in unglamorous places: recall sequences based on treatment intervals, waitlist filling when a cancellation occurs, and drafting routine patient messages. These are measurable and low risk.

Where caution is warranted

Documentation assistance touches the clinical record, so provider review before signing is not optional. Where protected health information is processed by a third-party model provider, that provider should be covered by your vendor agreements. Ask which sub-processors are involved.
